How to Protect Teens From ‘Going Punk’

In 1987, ABC set out to help parents protect their teens from an unsettling and terrifying new trend sweeping the nation — punk rock. The result is The Day My Kid Went Punk, an unintentionally hilarious story about a teen who one day, out of nowhere, up and decides to “go punk.” Do yourself a favor and see just what the executives at ABC understood “punk” to mean in 1987  — you won’t be disappointed.

In any case, it’s decidedly fluffy compared to the classic 1982 punk-themed episode of Quincy M.E., “Next Stop, Nowhere,” which you can watch for comparison’s sake here.
